This 176 acre residential development we call home has an interesting history. Gilfield Village sits on land that has been in the Davis family since 1868. Gil Cobbs is a descendent and he has given respect to the prior owners by naming streets and ponds after his family: Irene’s Petite Court, after his wife, Irene, Gil Jr.’s Creek, Otelia Court and Lydia’s Pond for his grandmothers and Oneatha’s Pond after his mother.

The development is a joint venture with Howard Langhorne, therefore, Howard’s Scenic Trail; Laura’s Homeplace, after his mother, and Val Ter Court for his daughters Valerie and Teresa.

Greenway Trail and Smartview Lane are named for Gil’s reverence to the environment and Half Moon Court is named for the scenic and  environmentally friendly Half Moon Bay Links Golf Course, outside San  Francisco, where Gil has played golf.

Leveque Place honors Gilfield’s first new residents, Bob and Donna Leveque.

Adler’s Lane is for Gilfield’s design architect.

You will notice the many bird houses in the development.  Also, the guard rails are rusty, not shiny—this all relates to Gil’s love for keeping our development natural and environmentally friendly.
